Behind the Maps: The Native Maps printing process starts with the research: neighborhoods are organic, they grow and they change, so NM consults city data and pays special attention to crowd-sourced forums, blogs and neighborhood associations to capture the right snapshot of a place. Once the design is finalized, they use it to make a handmade silkscreens and then print it using non-toxic water-based inks they print the image directly onto acid-free 100 lb paper made with renewable energy.
