Details: **Merino has formed the backbone of Finisterre’s technical fabrics for some time, and the Portland Polo uses their finest grade Merino in a bespoke fitting polo shirt.** Soft and durable, cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Set in sleeve and detailed buttons. Why Merino?: Learn how tiny Merino fibers are a wonder of nature; keeping Merino sheep comfortable amidst the rugged landscapes and harsh climate changes between New Zealand seasons. Read more [here](https://huckberry.com/journal/posts/merino-wool). Naturally porous Merino wool fibers can absorb up to 35% of their body weight, pulling moisture from your skin and wicking it away while drying fast enough to avoid the dreaded clammy chill when your exertion slows. Merino wool incredibly ‘senses’ the humidity between different environments (re: your skin and the air outside), and transfers moisture accordingly to either keep you cool and dry, or warm and dry. Witchcraft? maybe. Merino works best when it can pull moisture directly off your skin, so layer accordingly. Pull on a lightweight tee for maximum wicking in warm climates, and a mid-weight long-sleeve layer under your technical shell for dry warmth during the winter.
