Each Wallegend print is a reproduction topographic map made by the USGS starting back in 1884. The originals, typically 40-100 years old, are scanned in high resolution for enlarging. Then they are digitally enhanced by removing old stamps and writing, as well as color corrected and cropped. Some discolorations such as yellowing edges and corners are preserved as well as crease marks from folds. This gives each map a clean look while still keeping its unique history still apparent.
