about
The tusk used to make this knife are around 15,000 years old and are found in the icy depths of the North Sea. Tan, brown and even blue hues are the result of thousands of years of mineralization. The exact hue of any given tusk depends on the mineral makeup of the soil surrounding it. Damascus Steel is characterized by it’s strength, edge holding ability, and it’s dramatic appearance. The Damascus Steel used in these knives comes from Japan and is called “Sanmai Damascus” or Sandwich Damascus. There is a core of vg-10 steel with 16 layers of stainless steel on each side to produce a rust free Damascus look blade.
