Zünden Fire Starter

Headquartered in Bonners Ferry, ID, Uberleben draws inspiration from the German word for *survive* or *to live*. It's not merely the act of physical survival Uberleben is interested in. To pump blood and fill your lungs with air is one thing; It's another to *feel* alive. Their smart survival gear—from compact fire starters to hardwood mugs to titanium stoves—is designed for these experiences of aliveness and for more of them to be had.

**Stranded on an island in the South Pacific? Cut to the victorious fire dance.** Remember when Tom Hanks's character in *Cast Away* chafes his hands raw rubbing sticks together for half a day? What if he had had, say, the power to strike 5,500º F molten sparks in any weather at any altitude? And a 6-function multi-tool scraper and hardwood grip attached to a 550 paracord lanyard? He certainly would've been dancing around his fire a little sooner had he recovered one of Uberleben's best-selling ferro rods. Whether you're braving the elements in the South Pacific or tenting it up in your backyard, the Zünden Fire Starter is more than ready to rise to the occasion.
